Pequeno Lar
Our story

The idea of creating a space to serve children arose in 1988, thought up by a group of Banco do Brasil employees, who decided to give new meaning to the pain of one of the couples on the team, who suffered the loss of one of their daughters, a beautiful little girl. 03 years.
With the aim of helping needy families in the municipality of Vila Velha/ES - Brazil, the group started a project which, in the first phase, consisted of distributing food to families in the Santa Rita de Cássia neighborhood. The area had precarious housing, shacks built on the mangrove without any infrastructure and with minimal assistance from public agencies. Over time, the group began to build and renovate the shacks, in addition to making several donations.
On August 20, 1990, they founded Creche Pequeno Lar, initially located in the backyard of a team member's house, at Rua Henrique Moscoso, no. 2035, in Jaburuna. The name “Creche Pequeno Lar” pays homage to the couple's daughter, who inspired the movement to improve the living conditions of socially vulnerable children, through quality education and comprehensive support.
In 1994, land was acquired where the daycare center is currently located, at Rua José Rezende Filho, nº 169, Divino Espírito Santo. The local population faces low socioeconomic levels and many families deal with violence and drugs. Despite the adversities, over 34 years of work at the facility, the daycare center has built a solid partnership with the families it assists, who actively participate in meetings and cultural and pedagogical celebrations.
Currently, it serves approximately 90 children, aged 2 to 5 years and 11 months. Open from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 5pm, offering early childhood education, games, rest and 5 meals a day: breakfast, lunch and snacks. While their parents work, they are cared for and educated with lots of love.
Pequeno Lar has eight paid employees: three pedagogues, two classroom assistants, one cook and two general service assistants. Permanent volunteers include a pedagogical coordinator, a nutritionist and a social worker. Other volunteers also donate their time, providing children with moments of learning and joy.
As a non-profit association, it is maintained through donations, resources from events, the Carlota Loja Social (bazaar) and the National School Food Program (PNAE) and Mesa Brasil - SESC, which subsidize part of the food.
Paying employees and spending on electricity and water require continuous efforts from the institution to meet its financial commitments. The current challenge is to expand its facilities to better serve children and the community.
Creche Pequeno Lar depends exclusively on donations from generous hearts to continue impacting lives.
